Abstract:This bachelor thesis investigates the impact characteristics of an investor has on their intention to make use of P2P (Peer-to-Peer) lending. With the development of new digital technologies, alternative financing methods have emerged. One of these methods is P2P lending. In order to find out how individuals respond to this new investing method, quantitative data from an anonymously sent out survey was used. The key areas of focus include the demographics Age, Gender and Level of Education. Furthermore, the personality trait Openness to Experience was taken into account. Key findings indicate that these characteristics seem to have no significant impact on the investor’s willingness to use P2P lending.
