Abstract: | This thesis investigates the integration of quantum computing within the commercial banking sector, examining its potential to transform key financial processes through enhanced computational power. It explores the current state and future possibilities of quantum computing, focusing on applications in financial modeling, portfolio optimization, fraud detection, and risk management. The study employs qualitative research methods, including expert interviews and desk research, to gather insights into the strategic adoption and potential impacts of quantum computing in banking. Additionally, the thesis discusses the challenges of implementing this technology, such as the need for specialized skills and the high costs associated with early-stage development. By addressing how banks can strategically leverage quantum computing, the research aims to provide banks with actionable insights for maintaining competitiveness in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.
