Abstract: | Due to a lack of insight into the product lifecycle of products, the untimely availability of information from information carriers, unclear process agreements/decision-making processes, the problem of deploying the right supply chain actions at the right time arises. This can lead to high costs with suppliers and loss of trust with Company X customers. To solve this problem and transform the procurement organization from following to leading in lifecycle management, steps must be taken to improve the flow of information. This may include establishing integrated decision models and processes that make data exchange clear across departments and systems. Establishing clear communication protocols, decision models and developing analysis systems can help predict the consequence of changes in the product life cycle. Thus, scenario-based and proactive action can be taken. By creating more product lifecycle insight, it is possible for the procurement organization to reduce risk, reduce costs, and improve process efficiency. |
