Abstract: | Business Process Management (BPM) exists of theory applied in the field of engineering and improvement of business processes. In this thesis, several tools, which are part of the BPM, are used to introduce a structured business process at the company of Voortman. Business Process Modelling Notation, which is one of these methods, is used to make a model of the discovered as-is process. Qualitative and quantitative analysis, also with help of literature based methods, are used to determine possible improvements of the current process. Combining the discovered as-is process and the recommendations how to change the process gives a BPMN model of the to-be process. An implementation plan is included, based on the transition tree method of the Thinking Process of Theory of Constraints. A questionnaire is used to investigate the validation of the outcomes of the thesis with employees at Voortman. The result of this report shows how the different methods of BPM are applicable in a real-world problem at a company. |
