Abstract:Twence is a waste processing company that experiences problems concerning the management of its bunkers, because of uncertainty in the arrival of supplies. To be able to acquire a more reliable arrival of supplies, an overview is created of the current supply handling. Subsequently, a literature review was conducted which found that for such problems the application of time slots and quantity restrictions fits. A simulation study was conducted to measure the effects of the application of time slots and quantity restrictions in comparison to the current situation. This research discusses theories on how to deal with an uncertain supply. The general research question to this thesis, is: “How can Twence increase the predictability of waste supply in order to have a better-operating bunker management?” The result of the research includes an increased supply certainty and with that an improved bunker management.
