Abstract:Background: Psycho-oncological (PO) care is shifting from secondary to primary healthcare to enhance accessibility for cancer patients. Integrating eHealth tools, like Compas-Y, a self-compassion mobile intervention, into these practices offers potential but presents challenges. Objective: This study explores primary healthcare professionals' perceptions of integrating eHealth, particularly Compas-Y, into PO care. Methods: Twelve professionals, including practice assistants, physiotherapists, and psychosocial therapists, were interviewed about their current PO care practices, experiences with eHealth, and the factors influencing the integration of Compas-Y. The interviews, analyzed using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) 2.0. Results: PO care practices vary between oncology-specialized and other professionals, with 25-60 minutes consultations addressing diverse patient needs. Key challenges include poor coordination with secondary care and imbalanced resource availability. Many professionals use eHealth, such as Therapieland, Minddistrict, and Physitrack, for patient support. Facilitators for integrating Compas-Y include user-friendliness, low cost, and professional motivation. Barriers involve time constraints and limited digital skills among patients and professionals. Conclusion: Improved communication between primary and secondary care and better financial support for eHealth implementation could enhance the integration of tools like Compas-Y. Future research should focus on refining roles and communication to ensure the successful implementation of eHealth in PO care.
