Abstract: | This bachelor thesis focuses on developing a strategic decision-making model for optimising Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and management to maximise revenues for a company. The study starts with an introduction to the EV charging market, and introduces the problem the company faces. To get a better understanding of the current situation, a context analysis discusses the different strategic decisions a company can make and how these perform in terms of revenue. Next, a Mixed-Integer Quadratically Constrained (MIQCP) optimisation model is constructed to propose optimal charging points configurations and pricing strategies. The model is testes on multiple locations, using historical data from a charging point management platform over the year 2023. A sensitivity analysis elaborates on the behaviour of parameters such as price elasticity, demand elasticity, or Direct Current (DC) charger utilisation. Finally, recommendations are given on how the optimisation model can be implemented and improved, based on findings from literature and the research. These recommendations aim to further improve strategic decision-making in the EV charging infrastructure environment. |
