Abstract: | Stork IMM manufactures injection molding machines for various industries. However, some customers have reported significant leakage in their shut-off valves. For Stork IMM to address this issue, the root cause of the leakage must be identified. This thesis focuses on finding that root cause. To determine it, all components and the polymer used have been thoroughly examined. It was found that the main source of the problem stems from chloride contamination in the recycled polymer, which leads to corrosion issues. |
