Abstract: | According to the Dutch government, differentiated instruction is sub-par in secondary education. For primary education, the ADAPT tool exists, which gives insights into the quality of differentiated instruction. To improve differentiation in secondary education, the ADAPT tool was redesigned. Since differentiation and assessment for learning have many similarities, AfL was taken into account as well. The ADAPT tool for primary education was based on a skill hierarchy of DI in primary education. A similar skill hierarchy of DI and AfL in secondary education was used as basis for the redesign. Additionally, interviews were done to test generalizability of the existing knowledge and to gain additional insights into details of the specific context of Dutch secondary education. |
