Abstract: | This research, conducted on behalf of Nedap Healthcare, investigates the use of Business Intelligence (BI) and Advanced Analytics to enhance decision-making and process management in Dutch long-term care organizations. It assesses the current state of analytics adoption, introduces a five-level maturity model, and proposes a four-step roadmap to guide organizations in advancing their analytics capabilities. The data analysis highlights disparities between large and small care organizations, with larger entities benefiting from advanced infrastructure and dedicated BI teams, while smaller ones face resource constraints and rely on simpler tools. The maturity model focuses on technology, data, and organizational readiness, enabling organizations to evaluate their current state and identify improvement areas. The roadmap emphasizes assessment, strategic planning, phased implementation, and continuous evaluation, fostering sustainable progress in analytics maturity. Semi-structured interviews with BI practitioners validated the frameworks’ relevance and effectiveness. These tools provide actionable guidance for organizations to overcome barriers, adopt analytics effectively, and improve strategic decision-making and care quality. This work underscores the potential of data-driven approaches in Dutch long-term care. |
