Abstract: | This thesis looks at how changes in the world around us—like new technologies, climate change, or major crises—influence whether university students around the world want to start their own business. Based on the External Enablers Framework, the study focuses on four types of environmental changes and how they affect students’ interest in becoming entrepreneurs now or in the next five years. Survey data was analyzed using logistic regression. The results show that some changes, like technological developments, increase students’ interest in entrepreneurship, while others, such as societal crises, can discourage it. The study also explores how these effects differ depending on a student’s age, gender, study background, or whether their parents are entrepreneurs. The findings help us better understand what drives or blocks student entrepreneurship and suggest how support could be tailored to different groups of students. |
