| Abstract: | Having a secure, stable, and reliable infrastructure for distributing time across the Internet is critical to its overall security. Therefore, we wish to discover and analyze Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers that are available and/or used. The method propsed and executed in this research is to scan the Domain Name System for common places references to NTP servers might exist, and then validating those references, resulting in a list of NTP servers. Some initial analysis of this list of servers is also done in order to draw some conclusions about, for example, IPv6-readiness of the NTP ecosystem. |
