Abstract:
Changes in society induce new requirements on education. Graduates should not only be able to use relevant knowledge, they should also be able to develop themselves in order to accomplish the life-long learning idea. Therefore they should be able to adequately communicate, cooperate, analyse, reflect, solve problems, etc. Such changes call for instruments to monitor and assess students' individual development, and a digital portfolio can fulfil these needs. The purpose of this study is to answer the question, how a digital portfolio system is best implemented in a Dutch Professional University (The Hogeschool Drenthe). First a literature research has been carried out, the results of this literature study are the starting point for the development of the implementation plan.
