Abstract:A new type of contracting has been incorporated in the construction sector since a couple of years. At these so called Integrated Contract's (IC's), the contractor is not only put responsible for the physical realization of an object. The mental realization, the engineering process, is also at the responsibility of the contractor. A Programme of Specifications, set up by or the principal, is used as a basis on which the contractor develops the design. The programme of requirements is a list of all requirements and conditions which the contractor has to take into account. The government authority Rijkswaterstaat uses the IC in a large degree. In fact, the only tender projects with IC's. However, the municipal constituents lags behind in putting out to contract by the form of IC's. The IC's offer BAM Wegen Regio Oost (BAM) larger chances than the traditional way of contracting. This research tries to reveal which uncertainties and risks dominate at municipal constituents and tries to find out in which way BAM can diminish these. The accomplish this, this research has been set up. In this research three different components have been confronted with each other. A theoretical framework, formed by a literature study and a role-playing game (1) and a empirical part that consists of interviews with and an inquiry under municipal constituents (2) and interviews with BAM employees (3).
