Abstract:This project is about the redox cycling eect and its use to amplify measured currents in electrochemical experiments. It continues the work of Dr. V.A.T. Dam [1] on redox cycling with facing interdigitated array (IDA) electrodes. Dr. V.A.T. Dam measured a redox cycling (RC) amplication of 60 to 70x. This high amplication factor could not be explained properly by known theory. The rst goal of this project is to nd a plausible explanation for these results. The second goal is to use the obtained knowledge to design a novel sensor structure to achieve an even higher RC-amplication.
