Abstract: | This research thesis explores the implementation of the second trimester ultrasound in the Dutch primary health care. Many factors can influence the effective implementation of an innovation. Two important factors are quality thinking and cooperation between stakeholders. The main research question of this thesis is: in what extent does quality thinking and cooperation, between the stakeholders involved in the implementation process of the second trimester ultrasound, contribute to an effective implementation. Structural face-to-face interviews have been performed with seven national organizations (the KNOV, NVOG, BEN, STBN, VSOP, FMF and CvB), and four regional centers for prenatal screening (the regions Utrecht, Rotterdam, Nijmegen and Groningen). |
