Abstract: | Software developers increasingly use patterns to improve the quality of the software they produce. These patterns help improve the reusability of both the design and the implementation, and decrease the amount of errors made. Next to well known software patterns for code, patterns for functional designs have been developed. Exporting data from a production system to a Management Information System occurs in many systems and the functional design of these exports contains similar elements. In this research, these similar elements are combined into a functional design pattern. This functional design pattern is then used and evaluated. The result of this evaluation shows that a functional design pattern can be created for the export to Management Information Systems, and that the pattern is useful. However, the pattern is large and another method to store the knowledge might be more applicable. |
