Abstract:Tactus Addiction Care uses creative, proactive recruiting methods to come in contact with high risk youth, to lead them to care and realise treatmentgoals. Tactus has developed easy accesible activities and reventionactivities that are being carried out by preventionworkers. This method of finding and binding risk youth is called assertive outreach. Nevertheless these activities do not have a scientific support and are therefore not evidence-based. In addition there is no concrete decree of what abilities and behavioural characteristics an outreaching- preventionworker should have. The aim is to investigate to what extent the professional identity of preventionworkers converges with the most adequately and effective method to perform assertive outreach towards high risk youth in addiction care. Methods First there has been done a literature search on the topics of professional identity and assertive outreach. Subsequently twenty outreaching preventionworkers have been interviewed about there outreaching activities and their viewpoint about assertive outreach. In addition, the current professional identity of the outreaching preventionworkers is described. Focusgroups have been held to establish a complete representation. In these meetings the dilemma’s and considerations regarding assertive outreach have been discussed
