Abstract:For the master thesis I have decided to analyze the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) of the EU. The Lisbon Treaty provided for changes in this policy field, with the aim to have made it more effective. My assumption is that more effectiveness can be achieved though more integration, whereas integration means more competences for supranational institutions, such as the Commission and the European Parliament, and more communitarized decision‐making in the Council. Although the reforms are quite impressing, with regard to the establishment of two new institutions, the conclusion is that the amended treaties do not provide a basis for more CFSP‐integration
