Abstract: | The narrative psychology opines that a person’s life can be seen as a story. Research shows that a satisfied life-story creates a good mental health. Mark Freeman (2003) introduced the term ‘narrative foreclosure’ first. This is the premature convincing that one’s life-story has ended. Research literature tells that chronic diseases, such as rheumatism, form a major risk factor for a lower mental health. Little is known about the relationship between chronic diseases and positive mental health. In this study, the relation between 'narrative foreclosure’ and mental health will be investigated among a population of rheumatic patients. |
