Abstract: | As a bachelor assignment a research has been performed to find differences, similarities and future trends in Human Resource Management practices and policies in western countries and countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). A literature research and interviews have been performed to find both literary and empirical information on the research subject. After analysis of the results, the conclusions of the research were that differences are to be found between HRM in western countries and GCC countries, and the trend is that the development of HRM in GCC countries follows the same directions as the developments of HRM in western countries, but with a certain delay of several years. Coupled to this research an extra research has been performed to sketch an overview of the available literature on Human Resource Management in the countries of the Middle East in the last 10 years. The research results can be found in the appendices. |
