Abstract:The Syncreon Export Packaging Plant in Regensburg has two warehouses at its disposal: warehouse 64 and warehouse 56. The prior one is the main warehouse, which also holds the offices. The latter one is smaller and is only partly used. This warehouse in still rented fully, since renting contracts are signed for the long term. Both warehouses are rented per square meter. Since the board of the Syncreon plant wants to reduce its rental costs, the amount of floor space used needs to be reduced. This research focuses therefore on the following research question: How can the floor space used in both warehouses be reduced in such a way that cost reduction can be achieved, without diminishing the warehouse performance
