Abstract: | This study examined involvement in aggression during nights out, and it’s relation with alcohol use, alcohol expectancies, and personality. Subjects were boys and girls in the age of 16 till 18 (N = 131), who completed a questionnaire. First, correlation analyses have been conducted to determine the relations between the different variables. After that, regression analyses have been used to determine whether alcohol use mediates the relation between personality and involvement in aggression. Regression analyses also have been used to determine whether alcohol-aggression expectancies moderate the relation between alcohol use and involvement in aggression. The results showed that preventive measures against aggression must be directed at alcohol use, the personality dimensions impulsivity and sensation seeking, and positive and negative alcohol expectancies. Due to this, aggression during nights out, maybe can be prevented. |
