Abstract:The emergency department (ED) Leyweg of HagaZiekenhuis experiences problems with long waiting times, resulting in dissatisfaction among staff and patients. To deal with these problems, both management and staff desires quantitative insight in activity durations and waiting times, and would like to obtain suggestions for interventions to reduce the patients length of stay by reducing delays.
