Abstract:Preceding research shows that different patterns emerge to watch certain TV programs. The current research also focuses on that by analyzing factors such as identification, reality entertainment and the format itself concerning reality programs like Oh Oh Cherso. Two research questions arise. The first research question is “Which factors can explain the success of reality shows like Oh Oh Cherso?”. The second research question is “Does appreciation for reality shows like Oh Oh Cherso influence the future view behavior of that program?”. The study uses an online-survey based on the studied factors filled in by students of the University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands. The results show that the factors reality entertainment and the format play an important role. Also the factors social interaction and relaxation seem to be important. Respondents who find the program attractive will also watch it in the future.
