Abstract: | In traffic modelling the displacements of people between different zones are modelled. These displacements are stored in an Origin-Destination matrix (OD matrix). These matrices are often based on survey data or on a mathematical model. To improve these matrices so that they approach reality they are calibrated with real life data. At the moment this is mainly done with traffic counts. In this thesis two different sources of information are studied, to see in which way they can also be used for OD matrix calibration. These sources are information from the public transport, and information from mobile phones. For public transport information three different models were defined, based on either counts, stops and journeys. For mobile phone datasets an algorithm was design to convert the data to a route in the route network. These four models were then implemented in the OmniTRANS program, which resulted in some conclusions and recommendations. |
