Abstract:This internship report reflects three mechanical design jobs performed at Thales Netherlands. In order to improve the performance of the spraying system for camera windows, an accumulator has been designed, which can be placed in the cleaning liquid circuit. With this accumulator the pressure at the nozzles can be increased, which makes it possible to spray with a more powerful jet. The basis of this accumulator is a sealed container containing a membrane, on which a spring is placed, which applies a counter-pressure on the membrane. Calculations of the spring parameters have been performed, resulting in a design for a prototype, with which tests can be done. A portable land and sea radar has to be placed at fixed coastal locations. To protect this radar from wind loads, a radome has to be designed. Different production methods have been investigated on costs and performance. The best solution is to make a radome by vacuum forming a polyethylene plate. For this concept a price estimation has been made. A test setup for Wi-Fi antennas has to be made, in which three antennas can be mounted at different angles. To guarantee a fast design and production process, this test product is realized by creating a design with many sheet metal parts. Angles can be adjusted by bending the frame.
