Abstract:[Introduction] Every human being will experience negative life events in their lifetime. But these negative life events have different effects on different persons. And besides that, not every person will experience the same amount of well-being. Resilience and autonomy are two subjects of which, separately, are known to influence the amount of well-being that a person will experience. But so far, there is no research done to the relation between resilience, well-being and autonomy. And there is known data to show if these subjects will change during lifetime. [Method] To examine these relations, an electronic survey was put together, named; the Well-being survey. A total of 116 persons participated in this study. Through convenience sampling, a total of 116 persons participated in this study, from all parts of the Netherlands. The age of these participants was from 18-80 year. The participants were split up in for age categories namely: 18-29, 30-49, 50-64 and persons older than 65 year. [Results] From the results it was shown that the average scores of resilience, wellbeing and autonomy did not significantly differ from each other, when was looked through the age categories, And there was a correlation between resilience, wellbeing and autonomy. But these correlation was different for the different age groups and for how the concept were measured. Also found is that resilience is not a fully mediator in the relation between autonomy and well-being. But depending on the way that resilience is measured, there is prove that resilience can be a partial mediator. [Conclusion] Concluding can be said that the connection between Autonomy, Resilience and Welbevinden appears to be different trough ages phases and these connection depents also on how these subject are measured.
