Abstract: | he objective of the study was to evaluate the user needs of the service quality of an e-health aftercare program based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, for chronic pain patients. This is examined by a semi-structured interview amongst 28 chronic pain patients. The order of the interview scheme is based on different parts of the aftercare program. These parts are: “my values”, “my actions”, “diary”, “overview”, “exercises”, “tips”, and “SMS Coach”. Service quality focuses on the “SMS Coach” and was measured by the following four constructs: first impression, frequency of receiving text messages, who should write the text messages, and conditions for optimal service. The results showed that participants are positive about the service quality of the aftercare program, but that there were a few additions that would make it fit better to user needs. These recommendations are: being able to change the frequency by themselves; having standard texts to choose from; being contacted by therapists; to also receive text messages for other parts then the “diary”, like “my actions” and “exercises”; and, having the possibility to choose a preferred text message medium, other then SMS, like email or popup messages. To conclude, it seems that the results lead to a better fit to the user needs. Therefor more chronic pain patients might use the program and more patients will retain what they learned during the revalidation program. |
