Explorative Delphi study of : an organizational climate for the phases of the innovation process

Broeze, L. (2014)

The organizational climate is seen as one of the success factors for innovation. The research was started to gain more insight into this success factor. The organizational climate for innovation was studied from a new perspective: developing a framework with innovation climate dimensions for the different phases of the innovation process. The research distinguished between three innovation phases: idea generation, development and capturing value. By use of the Delphi method the framework was constructed. The research results showed that the dimensions of an organizational climate for the innovation phases differ. The results re-emphasize the idea of the changing nature of innovation throughout the innovation process. Based on the research it can be concluded that there is an organizational climate for idea generation and an organizational climate for the implementation (development / capturing value) of innovation.
