Abstract: | This research is performed in the organization ‘Company X’ in Enschede. The following research question is central: ‘’in what way can ‘Company X’, where needed, support and improve sustainable employability of its employees?’’ Literature research revealed what sustainable employability is. It appeared that work ability, employability and vitality are returning components. Factors that support and improve sustainable employability are also studied, different organizational and individual factors are revealed and government and social partners also play a role. Two sub-questions are answered. One has to with the current situation regarding sustainable employability, This is measured with a questionnaire regarding work ability, employability and vitality of employees. The other has to do with the current attention the organization pays regarding sustainable employability, this is answered by means of a qualitative interview with the HR advisor and internal documents. Results show that in general, employees have good scores on the different components of sustainable employability. Results of the interview and internal documents revealed that some factors that support and improve sustainable employability are present, some partly and some not. The aim is maximum scores on sustainable employability and full attention regarding supporting and improving factors. In response to that, different recommendations are given. |
