Abstract:This Bachelor thesis deals with the EU Blue Card Directive transposition by Germany. When transposing such legislations there is often a lot of discussions about the content and how to implement it which can lead to transposition delays. In the case of Germany there has been a transposition delay of about one year. The goal of this thesis then is to reveal variables which might explain this delay. This is done by a qualitative case study of Germany. It is concluded that, in principle, Germany is able to transpose on time. However, they have a high incentive to deviate from the content of the directive. Knowing these variables which might cause the transposition delay and with that trying to improve the situation could also help to further foster the EU integration process.
