Abstract: | ABSTRACT, This paper studies whether specific board characteristics are important for the firm performance of Dutch listed firms. It investigates the impact of the age diversity, the national background, gender diversity and the amount of board members on the firm performance, measured by ROA and P/B-ratio. The analysis is done for the supervisory board, the management board and the total board. In conclusion this paper provides some evidence that the gender characteristics of board members would influence the firm performance of these Dutch listed firms. |
