Abstract: | Albert Heijn delivers about 900 stores from their distribution centres in the Netherlands. To gain insight in the costs of a delivery plan for the stores, distribution centres and transportation a model is built by ORTEC. We improve three areas of this model: the order picking method, the penalty costs and the delivery size estimation. We show our improvements result in a better estimation of the costs and increase the applicability of the model. In addition, we propose a few other areas to improve. |
