Abstract: | Due to the recent economic recession budget cuts had to made at the Police Force Twente. Project SA24/7 was the direct result of looking at how the resources of the Police Force could be used more efficiently. By using regionale private security companies as a set of extra eyes on the streets and using the information they provided the Police Force could steer towards an intelligence driven method of allocating resources. The main research question of this research is: Have the initial proposed processes of project 24/7 with regard to improving the number of caught flagrant crimes been implemented successfully and how can these process be further optimized? By using BPMN process maps are created of the to-be and as-is situations. The as-is map, reflecting on how the project is supposed to look, is created by doing a documentation analysis on the project initiation documentation. The to-be map was constructed by holding several in depth interviews and observation sessions with staff members of every involved organization. The main conclusions were that the technological infrastructure did not suffice, the communication towards the operational staff should be improved upon but that relation between public and private parties have improved. |
