Abstract: | The aviation world is a highly competitive market where every minute counts. As increasing number of flights and shorter turnaround times make the timely completion of aircraft service tasks more and more important. Currently there is a common feeling under AS management that CHIP is underperforming. Instead of scheduling pro-actively and constantly keeping track of future critical events, the dispatchers and CHIP are scheduling re-actively. The underperformance is also caused by limited knowledge and insight in what actually happens inside CHIP. These underperformance tendencies are the basis of the research goal of this thesis. The research goal is to provide insights into the scheduling of aircraft service tasks and to propose schedule improvements. |
