Abstract:The aim of this research was to determinate in which way there is discrepancy between the request for help and the supply for help, which is about the victims of forced prostitution. This request focus on the re-integration processes in the Dutch society. This is investigated using a topic list. Four interviews with victims of forced prostitution took place and one interview with a victim of sexual violence. A questionnaire was send to six social workers. Based on coding according the formulated codebook are the following themes conducted: past, therapy, self, future and environment. Thereafter is analysed how many times victims and social workers appointed this themes and in which way there was any connection between certain themes. The main result conducted of the different answers from social workers and victims is that victims mainly talk about the theme self that is harmed. Topics like shame and feelings of guilt are included in this theme, victims reporting a lot about these topics. Social workers don’t seem to acknowledge this and for them the theme therapy is most leading. By improving the therapy there will be in their eyes improvement in the remained themes. Furthermore therapy can be more efficient and effective according the social workers and more attention is needed for this, while victim bring ideas about more understanding and acknowledgement for what they have gone through. Peer contact seems to apply this, in which victims can talk with people who been the same situation. There isn’t been much research done about this and this is also a recommendation for further research about the effect of peer contact to victims of forced prostitution and forced violence. Furthermore a recommendation is that social workers better search for coordination with the help request from victims. Social workers should also develop themselves more in Ketenzorg (collaboration between mutually Dutch agencies) in order to bring a more unambiguous approach of care for victims of forced prostitution.
