Abstract: | This thesis is motivated by Huntington's theory "The Clash of Civilizations" and it's prevailance in a cartoon crisis media discourse. A newspaper analysis for the Theo van Gogh murder, the Danish Cartoon Crisis and the CHarlie Hebdo attack has been conducted. Six newspaper outlets from three different countries, namely the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany, have been selected. For the analysis part a mimetic approach has been used to give a comprehensive answer to the proposed research question. |
