| Abstract: | Sundisc Abrasives has recently started a new production line. Throughput at this new production line has been below expectations and in order for the production line to be profitable, the throughput has to be increased. This research aims to identify the reason that the throughput has been lower than expected and offers ways to increase the throughput to make the production line profitable, by means of a simulation study. The study shows that small improvements to the production line are insufficient to improve the throughput to necessary levels and proposes the addition of a new machine to the system. |
