Increasing capital investment transparency across a multinational matrix organization

This study is conducted at a company in the energy sector. The objective is to generate a consolidated view of the financial processes and to provide a view on how the business decision support can be improved. From thorough analysis of finance reporting, we find one key issue that complicates processes around this reporting. A twofold solution is provided to increase business decision support and decrease costs involved. One solution addresses a more rigorous change in how processes are approached, the second solution provides a very workable solution that addresses problems in the short term. Several recommendations are made to address further topics and issues.
