Abstract: | This way the location and moment of fracture can be predicted better. The stress triaxiality is introduced to better predict the initiation of fracture. By relating this to the equivalent plastic strain at fracture a damage criterion can be established. Data for this criterion can be obtained by performing material tests. In this study a damage criterion for casted aluminium is required and therefore the specimens for the material tests have to be casted as well. This study proposes different specimen designs that can be used to obtain enough data point to establish a damage criterion. |
