Abstract: | This paper aims to assess the relationship of the European Union and Turkey with a special focus on European, normative values laid down in the Treaty of the European Union, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the European Convention on Human Rights. The first section of the paper addresses the methodological approach of this paper. The second of this paper analyses the role of European, normative values and to what extent these values have been respected and adhered is past and current relations. The findings of the analysis, conducted in the second section, are presented in section three of this paper. |
