Abstract:This research project focuses on the inbound process at Wavin. Wavin, a manufacturer that produces plastic pipes and fittings, wants to optimize their inbound process. After we have identified the problems that result in underperformance of the inbound process, we test several interventions in practice. Moreover, we construct a simulation model to analyse the impact of scheduled deliveries. We use the outcomes of the experiment in practice and the simulation model to give recommendations about improvements that result in an optimization of the inbound process.
