Abstract: | The Netherlands has a unique network of inland waterways that are managed through an extensive system of weirs and pumping stations. Each region is managed by a regional water authority, also called a water board. One such water board, Waterschap Aa & Maas (hereafter called WA&M), is the focus of this research.
