Abstract: | This report focuses on the control tower function of ShipitSmarter, an independent IT service provider active in the supply chain and logistics sector. The main problem of ShipitSmarter is the lack of tools for reporting and analysis to support the customers in making decisions on tactical and strategic levels. The goal of this research is to design a tool for analysis of the performance of carriers, and to design a what-if analysis tool to simulate different scenarios. Fourteen performance indicators are selected to measure the performance of carriers, a conceptual model for a what-if analysis tool is proposed, the data quality of the required input data is analysed, and prototypes of the data analysis tools are created. This report recommends ShipitSmarter to implement and improve the data generation and collection processes to provide high quality input data, and to implement the proposed carrier performance and what-if analysis tool. |
