Abstract: | Acts of organized crime make headlines regularly and fan fear amongst not only citizens, but also governments, which are apprehensive of society- and economy-undermining situations. The administrative approach can be an effective supplement to the traditional law enforcement measures in the fight against organized crime. This study compared the systematic administrative approach of the east of the Netherlands to the non-systematic administrative approach of the district Borken (Germany) in order to predict technical, legislative and organizational problems which can occur if the district Borken would implement a more systematic administrative approach. |
