This thesis has researched the feasibility of implementing the principles of standardisation and modularization in the infrastructural sector in the construction industry, focusing on the infrastructural object: a viaduct. It investigates id a viaduct is suitable for the application of the principles and aims to explore possibilities, opportunities, barriers and limitations for the implementation of the principles of standardisation and modularization in the construction industry. The associated problem definition to this subject is: "The company BAM Infra misses out on opportunities for the application of the principles of standardisation and modularization in the design and realisation phases of construction projects".
