| Abstract: | SketchLab is a proposal for an interactive learning environment for modernizing the digital design sketching education.It would not make sense to develop an e-learning environment without knowing what kind of issues there are in current digital design sketching education. Therefore, an attempt has been made to map the current issue in existing learning environments, educational models and technology. By analyzing digital design sketching, digital design sketching education and its problems and combining these results with findings from the research of existing learning environments, educational models and technology and attempt has been made to create a vision and a platform for modernizing of current digital sketching education. The result is a vision on organizing modern digital design sketching education, digital design sketching and the motivation of the students. Together these are aimed at improving their digital design sketching abilities. Subsequently on the vision a prototype for the digital learning environment has been made. The prototype incorporates the findings of the above mentioned research issues and a manual has been written for using this digital learning environment. |
