Abstract:In this study there were two main questions. 1) What is the content of an online life story book made by people with dementia? And 2) How did the involved parties experience the process of making it? The literature describes multiple positive effects of reminiscence for people with dementia. For example: It could strengthen someone’s feeling of identity and continuity. Also, it is known that reminiscence can contribute to someone’s shared identity with their partner and to the care-relationship between a health care professional and their client. A life album is one of the possible forms of reminiscence. Literature shows that there have been multiple studies about the effects of reminiscence but there has been little attention for the process. The process of making a life album is an ideal opportunity to study the reminiscence- process. This opportunity made that this study is aimed at the experiences of the involved parties. By mapping these experiences using qualitative research methods it is possible to obtain data with more depth. Therefore, the research questions are answered by making a content- analysis of the life album and doing interviews with all the involved people.
