Abstract:There is a lot of discussion on whether or not Dutch citizens have adequate political knowledge. The Dutch democracy is increasingly seen as a diploma-democracy. It is therefore important to research these assumptions. Based on the NKO-survey (Nationaal Kiezersonderzoek) the political knowledge of Dutch citizens has been researched in this thesis. By differentiating on educational levels it can be stated that Dutch citizens have sufficient basic political knowledge, however higher educated respondents did better than lower educated.
